The Studio

The Studio is the most compact unit in the Nest range. 5.9m long with 13m² with internal space the Studio is designed for landowners who want a fully self-contained space without the footprint, cost, or lead time of a larger build. It can be registered as a caravan on a Logic.DB trailer, which opens a simpler approval path on many sites.

The Classic

The full pod. The Classic prioritises flexibility and capacity. It includes a bedroom, compact enclosed bathroom, kitchenette, and a generous living area. An optional internal wall converts it to two bedrooms with no structural change, making it adaptable across different occupancy types and seasons.

The Signature

The same footprint as the Classic with an upgraded finish, for operators charging a premium nightly rate. The defining feature is an open bathroom with a freestanding bath positioned beside a full-size operable awning window. Do I need approval?
The most common question we get. Here is the honest answer, before you enquire.
What is a Nest Pod, legally?
A Nest Pod is classified as a movable dwelling, not a standard building under the National Construction Code. That classification is what makes a simpler, faster approval pathway possible compared with conventional construction.
Is there a pathway with no council approval?
The Studio can be registered as a caravan on a Logic.DB registered trailer. Registered that way, it can go where a caravan is legally permitted, which opens an alternative pathway for some sites.
What approval do I actually need?
In most cases a services connection approval from your local council, rather than a full development and building approval. We can supply the structural certificates your council needs to assess it. We can help determine your specific site requires before you commit.
Does it apply outside NSW?
Yes. Movable dwelling regulations exist in NSW and Victoria, and we deliver into both. In other state’s you should confirm the rules for your council and your intended use as part of your enquiry.
